Cathy Baier
Principal
Cathy
Baier formed BC Development Co. after spending a total
of 3 years working as an investment broker for CB
Richard Ellis and 12 years as a contracting officer
for the General Services Administration. While at
CBRE, Cathy specialized in GSA lease build-to-suits
and brokerage investment properties throughout the
country. While at GSA, Cathy served as a leasing contracting
officer handling the region’s largest, most
visible build-to-suit leased projects in Missouri,
Kansas, Iowa, and Nebraska. She awarded over $350
million in federal lease contracts, managed the construction
projects and supervised 1.6 million square feet of
GSA leased space in downtown Kansas City, MO. She
possesses an in-depth knowledge of federal procurement
policies, procedures, and politics. Cathy’s
distinct advantage comes from her background in the
leasing of GSA commercial properties, and her extensive
expertise in evaluation and development of real estate
from both a governmental user as well as an owner’s
prospective.
Dan Carr
Principal
Dan Carr has worked in commercial real estate development and brokerage for more than 20 years. Over the past 5 years, he has spearheaded the development of over $200,000,000 in real estate projects as well as being involved in a wide variety of development and investment sale transactions throughout the region, totaling in excess of $2 billion. Dan has extensive expertise in the planning, evaluation, execution and asset management of real estate from an owner’s prospective.
Dan possesses a unique ability to partner with city officials and tenants to customize projects to fit needs and budgets. Dan’s leadership includes: feasibility studies, site investigation, and coordination of design and incentives with city officials, and budget development and approval.
Rick Baier
Principal
Rick Baier, also a principal owner of BC Development Co., brings over 30 years experience in development, leasing and management of commercial real estate. His career includes principal executive positions at Leo Eisenberg Company, Jones and Co/Koll, and the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) where he served as the International President. For the past 12 years, he was with the Kansas City office of CB Richard Ellis where he served as Managing Director and First Vice President. Rick’s focus includes business development, client relations, investment sales, financing, property management and development services.
Nicholas J. Rhodes
Principal
Nicholas J. Rhodes is a Principal of BC Development Co. and is responsible for overseeing the company’s capital structure including debt and equity raising. In addition, Mr. Rhodes oversees investor relations and reporting and oversees the management of the portfolio.
Mr. Rhodes’ professional experience includes raising over $200MM in equity investments and joint ventures. Prior to joining BC Development Co., he headed Western United States acquisitions for a large private real estate investments company.
Mr. Rhodes received his B.B.A. from the College of William and Mary and his MBA from Emory University.
Ed Stanton
Principal
Ed Stanton is a Principal of BC Development Co. and is responsible for overseeing the company’s non-development investment activities including acquisitions, joint ventures and capital structures. In addition, he focuses on relationship development with institutions, family offices and high net worth individuals for co-investment and discretionary private equity investments.
Ed’s professional experience includes over $500MM in commercial real estate acquisitions and structured finance transactions. Prior to joining BC Development Co., he headed Eastern and Midwestern acquisitions for a large private real estate investments company, was an analyst in the structured finance group with Spaulding & Slye and a lending manager for Allied Mortgage Capital and Key Corporation.
Mr. Stanton received his B.A. from Rollins College and his MBA from Georgetown University.
Michelle Kaiser
Project Manager
Michelle Kaiser leads Project Management, where she is responsible for all facets of project development and implementation. She provides a structured and comprehensive management approach to coordinate, control and manage, strategic planning, due diligence, site selection, team selection, budget and schedule development, design and construction. Ms. Kaiser works closely with tenants, architects, contractors and subcontractors, city officials and clients to complete jobs on time and within budget. Ms. Kaiser has an acute sense of clients needs having acted in an owner’s representative role for most of her career. Her projects have included tenant improvement, retail, medical, office and residential from ground-up to renovation.
Kristi Stuedle
Transaction Manager
Kristi Stuedle serves as Transaction Manager for the BC Development Team. She assists with coordinating daily activities as well as all aspects of the commercial real estate development and investment business. Kristi assists with contract and lease negotiations, provides constant communication with clients, gathers and coordinates due diligence materials, tracks closing processes, and assists with property tours. Kristi works with the financial institutions on the loan approval process as well as prepares the monthly loan draws on the team’s current development projects. Ms. Stuedle has over 15 years experience in the Commercial Real Estate business providing her with a broad knowledge of leasing, sales and development activities.
Jessi Chelf
Marketing Manager
Jessi Chelf is responsible for all aspects of marketing and research including demographic studies, mapping, market research, website content, the development of marketing materials, presentations, proposals and investment packages. Jessi places consistent and strict emphasis when producing the finished product with quality and detail and in an efficient and effective manner. Ms. Chelf has 8 years of experience in the Commercial Real Estate business.
